Nintendo Switch 2 now aims to be released in summer 2024

Little by little, more and more alleged data are appearing about the Nintendo Switch 2, the name that the media has given to the future console of the Big N of video games because it has not been presented yet. After focusing on its supposed technical characteristics in the last entries, we now learn that its launch could occur later than expected, in the summer of 2024.

Until now the date that was speculated for the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 was early 2024, however, the YouTube channel Doctre81 has reported on a job advertisement from the Japanese company with an application deadline set for 1 December 2023 for a retail marketing and strategy position.

The part that could be related to the future console is that the job offer mentions a period from June to August 2024 in which the work experience will be enhanced with mentoring, networking opportunities, and exposure to industry leaders. the entire company, which suggests that a large marketing campaign will be carried out on those dates.

Doctre81 is aware that the job offer does not have to be related to the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, but could represent the preparation of the marketing campaign around the console, which would begin to be marketed in September 2024. If this information is confirmed, it would represent a considerable “delay” compared to the previously speculated dates.

Nintendo is usually very good at keeping its secrets and that is being seen with its future console. Until now it can be almost 100% assured that it will maintain the hybrid layout and that it will use an NVIDIA SoC with ARM architecture and based on Ampere, but aspects such as power remain unknown. Here the latest rumors suggest that it could reach the ASUS ROG Ally in portable mode, which would indicate that it has enough space to receive ports of games released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, obviously with cuts in the graphics.

Nintendo has the advantage of playing in its niche, but lately, devices like the Steam Deck and ASUS ROG Ally have given life to a small sector that could grow in size if the Big N doesn’t provide features like backward compatibility. DLSS is another thing whose incorporation seems almost obligatory if Nintendo does not want to see itself too disconnected from the PC and desktop consoles on a technological level.

Once again, we remember that this data has no official support, so in the end, something very different may end up happening both in the release date and in regards to the features that the alleged Nintendo Switch 2 will have. So far there are only two Data that if not confirmed would be a surprise, and it seems very clear that the Japanese company will try to rely on a formula at least similar to the one that has made Nintendo Switch a success.
